This week’s Christmas Eve edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance was hosted by The Digerati Life. The Silicon Valley Blogger highlighted our article, In Denial–Tips on Rejecting the Tenant Application, in a category all its own. While that may have had something to do with the number of real estate investing submissions, I like to think that SVB singled us out.
Here are some of the other articles that we enjoyed:
Madison at My Dollar Plan offered an alternative view of credit cards in Our Credit Limits: Over $1,000,000. Debt is our friend.
Steve at BripBlap wrote about adding some alternative sources of income in Spend Less Than You Earn–The Wrong Way to Think, although I’m still looking for the part where he talks about rental properties.
Patrick at Cash Money Life offers a simple choice–Nintendo Wii or a million bucks. Rob read the article and then, inspired, ran out and bought an X-box 360. I’m not sure Rob got the point.

I’m like Steve – looking to add some alternative income, but not quite ready to add rental properties. I think they are a great way to diversify, but I’m not sure how long I will be living in this area, and I would prefer to be around the house(s) I rent out, should I decide to go that route. But at least I know where to find some solid info!
Thanks for the mention!
True, I thought about rental properties, but then I realized that me giving advice on that would be beyond foolish – over towards harmful. I’m still trying to learn about rentals before I start considering that myself or recommending it to others. Hence, I’m reading TWA
Plus, I’m planning on not buying 3 Wiis and therefore having $3 million in the bank. That’s the deal, right?
Thanks for the mention!
Well, I can’t argue with your reasoning, Brip Blap, but at least consider diversifying in the meantime. Maybe, combine not buying 2 Wiis with not buying a PS3.
My husband was interested in rental awhile ago, but we decided it might be too much work right now with the kids. Maybe someday. Thanks for the highlighting my article!
